'River': Shot List

This shot list is a plan for when we begin filming. However, shots may be changed during the filming process.

- Canted angle of intoxicated man, walking towards the camera. Camera close to the ground

- Falls out of frame, hitting his head

- Match on action for next shot, frontal close-up of Ron's face as he wakes up

- Cut to close-up shot of printer

- Medium establishing shot of room as he stands up to get paper from printer, held as he looks at paper and walks out of the room

- Ellipsis of him getting ready, several close-ups of action e.g. coffee, coat, slippers

- Medium shot of front door, Ron walks out, then out of shot

- Medium-long shot of Ron walking into frame, looking at Kevin

- Close-up zoom in on Kevin, camera twisting, stops when Ron slaps Kevin

- Mid side on shot of both characters, Ron begins to read as Kevin stands up into frame

- Ron begins to read script, switches to shot of Kevin looking down at his own dead body. Ron's voice begins to fade

- (End of the speech) Medium shot of Ron (dialogue back in focus), as Ron asks: "Were you listening?" 

- Camera switches to Kevin, stuttering 

- Shot of Ron, then both leave frame

- Extreme long shot to establishing area, large title

- Switches to medium backward tracking shot, shows both characters walking towards camera, waist up. Kevin trips and falls out of frame, Ron looks unimpressed. Kevin stands back up into frame, dialogue ensues

- Shot-reverse shot when discussing how he got the job

- Cuts to tracking shot of Ron walking into an interview room, sitting down

- Medium shot of interviewer asking Ron about the job

- Extreme close-ups of Ron's neck, eyes and lips, highlighting his anxiousness

- Medium shot of Ron saying that he likes dead people, switching back to shot of interviewer looking happier

- Two shot of both characters, with the interviewer shaking his hand, Ron flopping around from the aggressive handshake

- Cuts back to Ron and Kevin. Eye-line match of both looking at a 'Limbo'

- Close-up of Limbo's face when he arrives, dialogue

- Ron kicks him and pushes him away, he runs away behind them with the camera panning back to Ron and Kevin

- When Kevin asks where they are, quick pan to the left, over the shoulder shot in between the two of a house

- Switches to medium shot of the two, Ron pushes him out of frame and follows behind

- In Amy's house, over the shoulder shot of Ron, Kevin ahead of him

- Switches to medium shot of Amy

- Close-up of Kevin to the right side of the frame, Ron over his shoulder in background, focus to Ron then back to Kevin

- Sound of door closing, cuts to the two back on the path, medium shot above waist

- Ron walks out in front of Kevin, shot-reverse shot for 2 lines of dialogue

- Medium long shot of the two for several lines of dialogue

- Cuts to zoom shot of messenger sprinting towards them

- Side on medium shot as he stops in front of them

- Close-up on messenger's face during dialogue

- Switch to close-up of Ron

- Back to side on shot as tells him to leave

- Shot-reverse shot during dialogue, ends on Ron

- Ron begins speech, as the camera pans around to Kevin. Kevin with a confused facial expression, voice changes, camera pans (clockwise) back around to Ron

- During speech, different shots of Kevin's friend standing at the side of the road, seeing what looks to be Ron in the distance

- Shots of Kevin's friend about to step onto the road, cuts to shot of Kevin saying to stop

- Cut back to medium shot of Ron closing over the page 

- Shot-reverse shot of the two, but when he speaks, quick cut back to Kevin standing up

- Kevin and Ron turn around, cut to the shot of their face, Kevin doesn't look confused this time

- Cuts back to establishing shot, backs of Kevin and Ron in forefront of frame but see the view behind them

- Ron takes out another page, medium shot of him, begins reading as Kevin walks away, he stops

- Kevin walks over and sits close to camera, right side of frame

- Focus changes as the two exchange dialogue, then close-up of Ron as he holds up envelope 

- Shot of Kevin standing up and walking over to Ron

- Shot-reverse shot of them standing opposite each other

- Camera stays on Kevin, shot of paper he unfolds, pans up to Ron's face as he looks from page to Kevin

- Extreme wide shot of Kevin walking away from Ron, Kevin fades away, both silhouetted by light of sunset

- Eye-line match of Ron looking at page, crossing of Kevin's name

- Shot of Ron's face, monotone expression as he shoves paper back in his pocket

- Back to extreme long shot of Ron walking away in opposite direction to Kevin, cut to black.
